The Kristallnacht Project - Putting the pieces back together

Lost Synagogues

On the Night of Kristallnacht there were 267 synagogues destroyed. As part of putting the pieces back together in the Kristallnacht Project, the Gary Rosenthal Collection is interested in collecting materials about synagogues destroyed during Kristallnacht, and stories of their rebuilding.  We’re particularly interested in gathering photos of the beautiful windows of the synagogues. We currently have some information available in our education center. If you have any photos or information you’d like to share, please contact us.

If you are interested in pursing a research project in this area, here are some links to get you started.  The Gary Rosenthal Collection does not neccesarily endorse any organizations included in this list; we are simply trying to make information available for further research.
